Nocturnal Windows at RHA Gallery Dublin now to 4 Aug 24
I am fascinated by the shapes of houses. House shapes inspire me to picture a counter shape that can balance and support the house above the ground. I want a logical shape that is worthy of the heavy browed, dormer windows and the wide, smiling porches. The confident architecture of a bank skyscraper, with its row windows, sleek surface, height that makes one tilt one’s head back to see it all seems to me to promise true accounting of value and a worthy counterbalance foundation. These Housebanks drift through WiFi, Bluetooth, algorithms, iCloud, and encryption. In the night the building pair is awake and vigilant and windows in the internet remain lit and open from all over the world, shoppers, hackers, surfers, visitors, all present in virtual spacetime.
